I bought this and it shrunk by about 8” in length. Since it was pre washed, I’m not sure why this happened. I’m glad I washed it before cutting out my pattern.

Thank you for your question. The pre-washing process is not the same as pre-shrinking. The main purpose of pre-washing is for softness, and you should still expect shrinkage after washing. This fabric is also very stretchy due to the loose weave. If you iron it, you may find you get a little bit of your fabric length/ width back. However, you should expect the shrinkage will be around 5% for this fabric.
